About this watch

The Rolex Submariner Date "Kermit", reference 16610LV, is one of the most beloved and historically significant Submariner references ever produced, introduced in 2003 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the collection and instantly recognisable by its distinctive green anodised aluminium bezel insert. This certified pre-owned example from 2005 is offered in exceptional condition, having been owned by a single careful owner since new and never polished, preserving every original surface, edge, and finishing detail in a state that is extraordinarily rare for a watch of this age.

Crafted entirely in stainless steel, the 16610LV features a solid 40mm Oyster case water resistant to 300 metres, paired with the iconic green unidirectional rotating bezel that earned this reference its legendary nickname. The combination of a black dial with a green bezel was unprecedented for Rolex at the time of its launch, and the watch has been a collector favourite ever since, now discontinued and increasingly difficult to find in this level of originality.

The case and bracelet retain their full factory finishing, with the alternating polished and brushed surfaces completely intact, sharp edges uncorroded by any polishing wheel, and the overall patina of a watch that has been worn and cared for, never refinished. For collectors who understand the value of unpolished originality, this example represents a genuinely exceptional opportunity.

The gloss black dial is clean and deeply legible, with luminescent Mercedes hands, stick hour markers, and a date display at 3 o’clock magnified by Rolex’s signature Cyclops lens. Powering the watch is the Rolex Calibre 3135, certified as a chronometer with a Parachrom hairspring, and a 48-hour power reserve.

Available now at Montreva, this certified pre-owned luxury watch is a singular opportunity for collectors of pre-owned luxury timepieces in Zürich seeking an unpolished, single-owner example in original condition.

A pre-owned watch in Zürich that has never seen a polishing cloth, and it shows magnificently.
