About this watch
The Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, reference 311.33.42.30.01.001, is the most storied chronograph in the history of watchmaking, the watch that accompanied astronauts to the moon in 1969 and has never stopped earning its legendary status since. This certified pre-owned example from 2018 is offered in very good condition and comes with its full original set, including the iconic Speedmaster Big Box with all original accessories, book, NATO strap, Velcro strap, and bracelet changing tool.
Crafted in stainless steel, the 311.33.42.30.01.001 presents the Moonwatch in its classic 42mm round case with the asymmetric case profile and crown-protecting shoulders that have defined the Speedmaster since 1959. The tachymeter scale on the black aluminium bezel and the plexi hesalite crystal are deliberate nods to the original specifications, preserving the authentic character of the watch that NASA certified for all manned space missions. There is simply nothing else quite like it.
The black dial is a masterpiece of functional design, with three chronograph subdials for hours, minutes, and small seconds, applied stick and dot hour markers, and luminescent stick hands delivering the exceptional legibility that professional timing instruments demand. Every detail is exactly as it should be, and has been for over half a century.
Powering the watch is the Omega Calibre 1861, a hand-wound chronograph movement with column wheel construction, the direct descendant of the movement that went to the moon and the movement that Moonwatch purists continue to prefer above all others. Winding it every morning is not a chore, it is a ritual.
The watch is delivered on its original black alligator leather strap with Omega deployant buckle, with additional straps included in the Big Box.
